Welcome to the New Mark DuRant Photography website! I've been slacking a little when it comes to this blog, but that is going to change soon.  I'm going to (slowly) get caught up with the many family sessions I've been blessed to do the last several months, as well as bring new portrait and wedding sessions, and hopefully complete some blog posts about general photography information and other helpful tips.

I'm am so excited about the new changes at Mark DuRant Photography- we have redone our website to match our fresh, clean photographs.  We also are offering some amazing new options this year with our portrait and wedding sessions. 

I recently got a chance to travel to Atlanta for the Imaging USA Conference.  Not only did I get to learn some new fresh skills for portrait photos, but I also scoured the EXPO in search of the perfect wedding and portrait album to offer my clients. Seriously, we looked at every.single.one. (and there were lots!)  And I couldn't be happier with the options we picked. 

We are offering two different premium wedding albums both at the same starting price.  One is a more traditional wedding album, with hard substrate pages, thick binding and beautiful seamless pages.  It comes in a custom box that also holds the DVD of high quality images that come with each wedding.  It is gorgeous!

The second one is my personal favorite- a premium fine art album.  This album has a coffee table book feel, similar to what you would find in a bookstore. The pages are thin, like book pages, and the binding is book binding.  It still lays flat across the seam so your images are the focus.  I love it- makes me seriously wish I had that option to put my own wedding photos in!

We are also offering custom guest sign in books for your wedding reception, and layflat albums are a beautiful options for parent books or  family and engagement sessions for family and engagement.  There is an option for every budget- you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a beautiful book to show your photos off! 

We have put a lot of thought, work and behind the scenes work into figuring out what products will best showcase your photos- and we are so excited to start offering it to our amazing clients.  If you are a past client and would like to order an album, give us a call and we'll get it going for you!

Elizabeth- A Fairy Tale in the making (Jekyll Island Wedding Photographer)

I got to know Elizabeth and her fiancé, Frank, thru Jessica at Jessica Lauren Events.  Elizabeth and Frank and their family were planning a Fairy Tale Wedding in the Bahamas during a Disney Cruise.  Before she embarked on her journey, Jessica, Elizabeth and I met on Jekyll Island for a very hot, but very fun Bridal ssession. 

Jessica assisted Elizabeth with her hair and makeup and helped make sure she looked beautiful during each photo.  Elizabeth was so easy to work with, and we had a great time exploring the Jekyll Island Club and the many beautiful photo spots we were able to locate.  Elizabeth was a trooper in the sweltering heat and we were able to capture some amazing moments truly showcasing her beauty! 

I cannot wait to take photos of this amazing couple during their ring ceremony following their cruise.  Congratulations Elizabeth and Frank!

Living the Dream! (Golden Isles wedding and family photographer)

Welcome to Mark DuRant Photography's personal blog! I am so blessed by the outpouring of support I have received from family and friends as we embark on this journey of professional photography.  I have taken photos of friends and families for years, but over time, my love of photography has turned into a business!  We have officially been open for business for about 3 months, and we already have people contacting us to take photos for them! It is amazing, and I am so blessed to be able to capture the memories and moments that make life special.

 

I have an amazing family who is supporting me and serve as my models for many photo sessions.  My wife, Kara, is the tech support behind the company- she does much of the social media and daily communication with clients, works on our website and facebook page, assists with editing photos as well as make sure I don't double book a day and encourages me every step of the way.

 

I also have two beautiful children who will appear on my facebook page and website from time to time. My princess:

 

She is my heart.  I am for sure a proud daddy! She is beautiful, inside and out.  She loves to dance, and often asks me to dance with her.  She is currently homeschooled and thriving in that learning environment.  She is a budding photogropher too-- she has even been known to take pictures with my phone of her teddy bears and room. 

Then I have my little slugger:

 

He has the sweetest little spirit, and it has been wonderful seeing him come into his own personality.  He has always been an easy baby, who loves to give lots of hugs and kisses.  I can't wait to teach him how to play baseball- he already loves to swing a bat!

 

That is a little bit about me... I love my family, I love God and I love capturing special moments between loved ones.  I can't wait to share some of those moments with all of you.
